Overview

The following article will list each of the FieldEdge triggers that can be used and how to set them up properly when creating a campaign in Mailchimp.

  • Note: Before you can create a Mailchimp campaign to be used with FieldEdge you will need to set up the Mailchimp integration. For more information visit our Getting Started With Mailchimp article. 

New Customer Added

When a new primary email is added in FieldEdge it will immediately appear in Mailchimp. When it is added it will populate the Email, Address (which includes Address 2 if it is present), Phone # (primary only), First, Last, & Company Name merge tags with the appropriate information. A contact tag will be created that matches the Customer Type if one is selected and the NewCustomer and Primary tag will be set as well. 

  • Trigger: Immediately after a tag is added to the contact.
  • Tag: NewCustomer
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove NewCustomer Tag
  • Subject line: Welcome to our family
  • Preview text: We are excited to meet you
  • Template: New Customer Added – Dynamic logo 

Work Order Completed

The WorkOrderComplete tag will be added to Mailchimp whenever a work order is fully complete. Any tags associated with the work order will be sent over exactly as they appear in FieldEdge as well. 

  • Trigger: Immediately after a tag is added to the contact.
  • Tag: WorkOrderComplete
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove WorkOrderComplete Tag
  • Subject line: We aren't satisfied until you are
  • Preview text: Please let us know how we can improve
  • Template: Work Order Follow Up – Dynamic logo 

Pending Quote Created

The NewQuote tag will be added to Mailchimp when a pending quote is created for a customer. When it is added it will populate the Quote Amount, Quote Date, Quote Number, Quote Sales Person fields with the appropriate information. This configuration will send an email follow-up to the customer three days after the quote was created. 

  • Trigger: 3 days after a tag is added to the conact
  • Tag: NewQuote
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove NewQuote Tag
  • Subject line: Let's get your job scheduled
  • Preview text: We are ready to help you
  • Template: Quote Follow-up – Dynamic logo 

Parts Warranty Expired

The PartsExpiration tag will be added to Mailchimp on the day the part’s warranty expires. When it is added it will populate the Parts Warranty Equipment and Parts Warranty Date fields with the appropriate information. The parts warranty equipment will show the manufacturer and model number of all the equipment at that location that that is coming out of warranty. This configuration will send an email to the customer the day it expires. 

Labor Warranty Expired

The LaborExpiration tag will be added to Mailchimp the day the labor warranty expires. When it is added it will populate the Labor Warranty Equipment and Labor Warranty Date fields with the appropriate information. The parts warranty equipment will show all the types of equipment and the address of where they are installed that are coming out of warranty. This configuration will send an email to the customer the day it expires. 

  • Trigger: Immediately after a tag is added to the contact.
  • Tag: LaborExpiration
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove LaborExpiration Tag
  • Subject line: Your equipment's warranty has expired
  • Preview text: We want to make sure you are protected
  • Template: Labor Warranty Ending - WITH SA - Dynamic logo (Used to sell an extended warranty) or Labor Warranty Ending - NO SA - Dynamic logo (Used to sell a service agreement)

Equipment Past Replacement Date

The ReplaceDate tag will be added to Mailchimp the day the equipment hits its replacement date. This is calculated by adding the life expectancy for the equipment type to its installation date. When it is added it will populate the Replace Equipment and Replace Date fields with the appropriate information. The parts replace equipment field will show all the types of equipment and the address of where they are installed. This configuration will send an email to the customer the day it expires. 

  • Trigger: Immediately after a tag is added to the contact.
  • Tag: ReplaceDate
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove ReplaceDate Tag
  • Subject line: Are you ready for a new system?
  • Preview text: Your equipment is ready for retirement
  • Template: Past Replacement Date - NO SA - Dynamic logo 

Equipment Anniversary

The InstalledOn tag will be added to Mailchimp the day after a piece of equipment is installed. When it is added it will populate the Installed On Date and Installed On Equipment fields. This configuration will send an email to your customer 1 year after the installation. 

  • Trigger: 364 days after a tag is added to the contact. 
  • Tag: InstalledOn
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove InstalledOn Tag
  • Subject line: Happy anniversary to your equipment
  • Preview text: Keep it performing like new
  • Template: 
    • Note: If you install another piece of equipment for this customer before the trigger is initiated it will overwrite the previous one. As a result, it is best to not push the trigger too far out.

Missed Visit

The MissedVisit tag will be added to Mailchimp the day the visit was supposed to occur. When it is added it will populate the Agreement TypeMissed Visit Date, and Missed Visit Task fields with the appropriate information. This configuration will send an email to the customer the following day. 

  • Trigger: Immediately after a tag is added to the contact
  • Tag: MissedVisit
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove MissedVisit Tag
  • Subject line: It is time to schedule your maintenance appointment
  • Preview text: Your equipment could use a little TLC
  • Template: Time to Schedule Maintenance – Dynamic logo 

Missed Invoice

The MissedInvoice tag will be added to Mailchimp the day an agreement invoice should have been paid. When it is added it will populate the Agreement Type, Missed Visit Date, and Missed Visit Task fields with the appropriate information. This configuration will send an email to the customer the following day. 

  • Trigger: Immediately after a tag is added to the contact
  • Tag: MissedInvoice
  • Schedule: Every day, all day
  • Filter by segment or tag: None
  • Post-send action: Remove MissedInvoice Tag
  • Subject line: It is time to renew your maintenance agreement
  • Preview text: It is time to renew your maintenance agreement
  • Template: Time to Renew Service Agreement - Dynamic logo
